"Wake Up!" My Team Leader, Sherly is singing in the hallways as each door gets a knock. "It's time for breakfast."

My new team "G" and I start the day with one of our traditions, Morning Boogie, which gets the mind and body going. I'm amazed at how close we've become in just a few days.

It's time for Mystery Words where every day, vocab words are presented in funny and memorable skits-something I can use in all kinds of areas. Next we gear up for life skills activities where the exercises are fun and challenging, and I realize the value of being able to trust and be trusted. On other days we'll do more in-depth academics during this session.

4:00 pm
My friends and I get to unwind with an activity break. We can choose an activity like swimming, basketball, volleyball, soccer, listening to music, or a campus tour. Each activity has assigned Team Leaders and it gives me an opportunity to get to know more of the students and staff at camp.

We start with a line dance and then a review of the Key of the day. Someone once said, "Don't worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try."

7:00 pm
My friends and I participate in quiet activities in which we learn better ways to communicate and get along with each other in a spirit of cooperation. Just being more aware of myself, my style, and the style of others seems to help me better communicate. I want to try a couple of the new skills I learned with my parents. Maybe I'll practice them that way.

9:45 pm
Every night we share meaningful things that happened at camp. Since day one I wanted to get up and share something but I was too frightened by the thought of 100 people listening to me. Cautiously I walk to the stage and sit down next to two of our facilitators. I make eye contact with all of my friends and acquaintances, "These past few days have totally changed my life and I feel like I have made friendships that will last forever. I've learned so much and I know that I'll use these skills over and over throughout my life..." When I finish, everyone claps and all of my friends tell me what : good job I did sharing.
